Q&A with Fany

Give us a brief introduction about yourself (what you do, where you're from, etc.).

I'm Fany, I'm content creator in all platforms & I'm from CDMX

How did you start as a digital creator?

My dream was to travel the world and share tips and experiences with other people.

What motivated you to travel to Tokyo? How did you make that decision?

I wanted to go to a new place, get out of my comfort zone and I already knew many parts of the world but not Asia and I had heard many beautiful things about Japan.

What was your favorite part of your trip to Tokyo? Or do you have an anecdote that you want to tell us?

Definitely my favorite part was Kyoto, it was like traveling a thousand years into the past in feudal Japan, I felt like I was in an Anime.

What do you think is the best part of traveling alone or with other women?

That you can organize your times without depending on anyone and normally women are more organized and prevented.

From the first time I heard about Greether I wanted to use it...Not being able to communicate or meet anyone in the country I was traveling to was my always traveling trauma until I met Greether! I am definitely going to use it in every country I go to and have a friend in every part of the world.

Why would you recommend Greether to someone? How did owning a Greeter improve your trip?

If I recommend it 100%, it gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing that I have someone there for any emergency and to show me around, it really is like having a friend waiting for you.

How did you hear about Greether?

Social media

What did you think about Greether before your first Greether Experience?

The same as advertised and yes, they met my expectations.

What did you think about Greether after your Greether Experiences?

I love it! From the first time I heard about this page I wanted to use it, I had a friend who went on a trip to Poland and had appendicitis and many problems because she could not communicate or know anyone there, that was my travel trauma always until I met Greether! I am definitely going to use it in every country I go to and have a friend in every part of the world.

What would you like to have known before you started traveling alone? What did surprised you?

That in 90% of the places they accepted cards, I had read many things about Japan that said they only accepted cash, that probably changed with the pandemic but if I had known, I didn't carry so much cash

Regarding transportation, was it difficult for you to move around Tokyo or Japan in general? (Tell us how you navigated and what you recommend to other travelers)

If it was very difficult, the Tokyo subway is a monster and the JR pass is complicated to understand, I recommend that you use Google routes but read very carefully.

Do you have any advice that you would like to share with the Greether community who would like to travel to Tokyo and another city in Japan?

Do not travel more than 10 days in a row or leave at least one full day to rest, in Japan it is walking and walking I am in very good condition and I always wore comfortable shoes but after the 10th day I could no longer walk, my feet were very swollen and with blisters It took them almost 3 days to reduce inflammation, all the stories of people who have gone the same thing happened to them.

Do you consider Tokyo to be an expensive destination?

Lodging is very expensive, book hostels at least 4 months in advance to get the best prices.

What was your favorite place in Tokyo and Japan?

Shibuya, Harajuku and Disney SEA

What do you wish you had brought but forgot to pack?

A fork, haha, yes I eat with chopsticks but after so many days it gets desperate and it was hard to find a fork in Japan

What made you trust Greether?

The reviews

Is there anything else you would like to share about your experience on this trip or as a traveler in general?

Reserve any meal in a restaurant or museum at least 1 month in advance, getting tickets the same day is almost impossible. Do not bring shampoo or conditioner, in all accommodations they are included for free.
